I'm proud to be a part of Yielded Men. I've never experienced an environment that is fostered within this group. From day one, I was welcomed as a brother in Christ. While it took me a a few visits to become used to it, I soon realised that this was an incredible place where men openly shared stories and struggles they face every day. My biggest surprise was to learn these men were facing the same struggles I was.
Through sharing and open communication, free of fear of judgement or retribution, we are able learn from each other, draw strength from each other and enforce each other, all the while leaIrning more about our amazing God!
I truly look forward to our meeting every week. I look to draw strength from fellow men after a tough week and provide some encouragement in return. I now start every weekend spiritually recharged instead of tired and drained and the feeling is truly addictive!
One of the most powerful aspects of Yielded Ministries is the leadership’s relentless pursuit of men for Christ. This has played out in various ways, including its Yielded Men meetings on Friday mornings, even through the doldrums of summer and quiet holiday weekends, and their Transition Coaching seeking out men who inevitably want to hide from God.
I’ve found them to have a meaningful blend of intentionality in focus and process, and attentive sympathy for each individual situation. I would encourage men, regardless of where they are in their walk, to investigate Yielded Ministries, to either simply check them out or to get more involved by plugging into men’s lives in a more meaningful way, the Way of Christ.
Through a Yielded Men weekly ministry event, I had the pleasure of meeting Fred Wilson. Within days of that Friday morning meeting, Fred reached out to me for breakfast and we have walked together spiritually, and as friends, ever since. I look forward to the time he and I talk together.
I regularly walk away from our morning discussions mentally and spiritually stimulated. He has been a blessing in my life and a blessing in my walk with our Lord. There is a need within the community of men for leaders to walk in tandem with other believers regardless of their stage of life, be it spiritually or day-to-day. Fred is one such person doing that by using his divine gift of speaking into the lives of men. I'm thankful for the involvement and impact Fred has had in my life.
I became involved with Yielded Men under the leadership of Fred Wilson just about 2 years ago. I initially went because my brother went and said YM was extremely helpful as it provided him great spiritual value and strength.
As I began to go, I had many things I was dealing with in my life (i.e. career, marriage, children, etc.). I instantly found YM extremely helpful as the leadership as well as the men that attended were much like me in one way or another. They were men with the need for something greater than themselves, working to better understand, deal with and even solve issues in life that required the Holy Spirit and prayer of others. I found myself much more able to cope and also enjoyed improvement beyond my initial belief would be possible in every area of my life that I shared with my group.
As an "A" type personality, I was taught as a youngster that I could handle it myself. However, I later realized an even bigger man seeks the Lord and his Christian brothers for guidance and prayer. I have found YM as among the strongest most helpful tools I have in my arsenal to combat life's challenges.
I would strongly urge other men who feel their lives have some room for improvement to attend our meetings to see what makes us keep coming back week after week (it certainly ain't just the coffee).
