Like a lot of people in our community, you may know about Yielded Ministries due to the great bible study and fellowship that brings men together early on Friday mornings. Or you might have attended an All Pro Dad event that touches both fathers and school children with the need for affirmation. I am writing to you about a less public aspect of Yielded Ministries that mean so much to our community and is part of my personal story.

About twenty months ago, during one of the most difficult times of my life, I had a chance encounter with Fred Wilson.  He reached out to me and began to meet with me weekly, ministering and supporting me as I began to recover and get back on my feet again.  He was the one ‘coach’ with whom I felt I could be total open.  I will be forever grateful for his time, training and gifts.  And he never asked for anything in return.

The best part of the story is that Fred has been able to meet with men daily so that my story has been repeated, in different forms, again and again.  In a quiet, unassuming way, Fred is allowing the Holy Spirit to work in his life so that many other lives are changed right here in our neighborhood.

Yielded Men meets a critical need as a bridge for men in transition, whether dealing with the loss of a job, a divorce or many other problems that men face.  It is the kind of ministry right here in our community that deserves and needs our support.
